The Cinque Terre May 11

The Cinque Terre (the Five Lands) is a portion of coast in Liguria, on the Italian Riviera, near to Versilia area. The Five Lands are five wonderful villages: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.

Paths, trains and boats connect the villages and cars can’t easily reach Cinque Terre: this feature and the lack of visible modern development make it a very popular and magic destination.
Over centuries have been built terraces on the cliffs overlooking the sea, giving unforgettable views.

A walking trail connects the five villages, offering an amazing view of the bay.
If you’re travelling in couple you can not miss the Via Dell’Amore (the Lovers Walk), the road from Riomaggiore to Manarola.

Driving Miss Daisy Apr 17

We all remember Hoke, the driver, and we all dreamt of being Miss Daisy for a while

If you are coming in Italy, for a business travel or an holiday, you need to think about your movements: why not hiring a driver?

Tusci Car Service
is a Florence-based company that offers car rental with driver services.
If you are traveling for business you can get a high class chauffeur, both for individuals or small groups.
Tusci Car Service will be very useful for you free time too, because they organize sightseeings and tours to the main Tuscan and Italian cities. But, if you don’t like their tours, you can ask them to organize a Personal Tour that suits your needs.

The chauffeur services include transfers to and from airports, ports and railway stations, personal taxi service for trade shows or events, cultural and sporting events, festivals, shopping in the best Tuscan Outlets, external business gatherings in Tuscany and in Italy.

Private shore excursions Apr 08

A cruise is the perfect choice for those who want to travel a lot but with all the comforts. It’s so relaxing to sunbathe in the swimming pool and visit wonderful cities contemporary.

The problem is that when you land for the tours, above spending a lot of extra money, you often can’t visit everything you would like to.

That’s why I hypothesized the perfect holiday: a cruise plus private tours.
In Italy, for example, you can ask Italy Private Tour to plan a trip or rent a car with driver.
Their mission is to provide an alternative to the cruise ship’s tours. Their excursions are synchronized to your cruise ship’s schedule.

Better yet, Italy Private Tour’s shore tours often feature more variety, are usually more intimate and are generally priced below the cruise line’s offerings.

Italy Private Tour also provides in most services Mercedes-Benz Luxury Sedan and Van transportation for your Airport transfers, Excursions or Tours.

The Drivers/Guides can take you to out-of-the-way sites, and their Mercedes Benz vehicles are comfortable, brand new and always reliable.

Remeron cave in Varese Apr 06

If you’re traveling near Milan, Como and Varese I think you should stop and visit Grotta del Remeron (Remeron cave).

Following an illuminated itinerary you will have the opportunity to admire the wonders of the underground world.

This cave has been discovered in the 20th century and has been totally restored in 2004.

It is situated in Comerio, in the Parco regionale Campo dei Fiori (Campo dei Fiori Natural Park) near Varese.

Spring in Italy Apr 03

Spring in Italy is wonderful. The weather in April won’t be necessarily 100% reliably wonderful but, in my opinion, it is the best time to travel in Italy, together with May: it’s not hot (like in June, July and August) and not cold (like in winter), and the day lasts 12 hours or more…

If you’re planning to travel in Italy in April, you have to consider that April 25 and May 1 are both Italian public holidays so many stores will be closed.
I think you should come in Italy later or before that week, it also costs less.

Go around the world… Mar 25

Suppose that you’re in Italy, and suppose you already seen enough of this country and you want to go somewhere else before coming back home.

Suppose you come from America and you want to visit India before leaving, or you want to make a stopover at Seychelle Islandswhere would you book the ticket or a package tour?

It’s not easy to find a reliable place abroad, that’s why I hope my advice will be helpful to you: Sporting Vacanze is an Italian Travel Agency specialized in the Maldives, Dubai, Sri Lanka and India.

You can find Sporting Vacanze in every Italian city, just check the website for further info.

Holidays in Salento Mar 19

Salento (Salentu in local dialect) is the south-eastern extremity of the Apulia region of Italy. It is a sub-peninsula of the main Italian peninsula, sometimes described as the “heel” of the Italian “boot”. It encompasses the entire administrative area of the province of Lecce, a large part of the administrative area of Brindisi and part of that of Taranto.

A number of places, the coasts above all, are remarkable landscapes and environments, among them the Alimini Lakes, on the Adriatic coast, and Porto Selvaggio, on the Ionic coast.

The soil is very fertile: some of the finest olive trees and grapes grow here, and their products are exported worldwide.

Salento’s coasts are varied,
and can be sandy or rocky, but all boast pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters. Some of the most renowned locations in Salento for summer holidays (from May/June to September) are: Ostuni, Oria, Ugento, Manduria, Porto Cesareo, Gallipoli, Torre dell’Orso, Otranto, Santa Maria di Leuca, Lizzano, Pulsano, Santa Cesarea Terme.

Salento is a peaceful land full of history and traditions whose strong points are its natural and architectural beauties, hospitality, atmosphere, and of course sea and its coast.

Honey moon in Europe Mar 03

This is an interesting article about honey moon I found on Irish Times.

EXOTIC honeymoons have never been cheaper. Tour operators have dropped their prices by 20 to 25 per cent this year on average, and by 45 per cent in some cases. Honeymoon resorts are offering extra nights, free upgrades, free activities, cheaper spa treatments and even theme-park tickets. Some Thai resorts are not only dropping prices but offering to double your spending money as well. It’s the right time to haggle for your honeymoon.

Several factors are behind this trend, and all are working to the about-to-be-marrieds’ advantage. The lifting of the fuel surcharge has reduced the price of airfares, the recession has forced airlines and travel companies to compete more vigorously, and if anyone has saved up enough for a holiday this year, it’s honeymooners. [...]

Those planning weddings and honeymoons are watching their budgets, so they are insisting on good deals. Couples are also more interested in experiences and adventure, so some are choosing to make their money stretch farther by spending, say, two weeks touring the US rather than a week in a posh Caribbean resort. [...]

Some tour operators says couples are looking for destinations closer to home out of consideration not just for their wallets but also their carbon footprints.

In another shift, the grand European honeymoon is coming back: Abbey Travel, Topflight and Sunway all cite a shift to Italy, Portugal and the Canaries, with the emphasis on quality hotels with spa and wellness facilities. The Atlantic islands are a relatively short flight away, and when you arrive you can just relax and recover from the exertions of the wedding – a more exhausting experience than many newly-weds expect.”
